Halloween 2009

We definitely had a different Halloween than we are used to. As seems to be happening more and more these days, our kids were scattered and none were with us. Jeff and I were the only ones home this Halloween so we sat outside handing out treats so we could at least see what everyone else was doing on the block. We did have a few teenagers with us for some food before they all went their different ways which was fun.
Emma and Olivia went with the Brown's trick or treating in Bountiful. They had a fun time. This is Emma and Olivia with Madison and Riley.

Cute little Riley - her sister said she loved that she had a tail.

The next morning they were separating their loot.
This is the scary house that Madi, Mikayla, Jeffrey and Kenny went to for fun. They wouldn't go when it was dark because they said it is too scary.
Mikayla and Madison went to Holly's for a while Halloween night. They all have really long fake eyelashes on here. Apparently there was a little trick or treating done also even though they stopped when they were twelve. Madi says only Holly trick or treated.
Taylor had a party with her friends. They all made tutu's earlier that week to wear that night... and then proceeded to trick or treat also.

And then there was Jeffrey's night. He didn't dress up though, this picture is from Emma and Livvy's party Friday. He went with a group of boys to watch a movie. After the movie a few of the boys went t.p.ing. Let's just say Jeffrey will probably never go t.p.ing again. Apparently his group also did a little trick or treating but Jeffrey says it was ok because they only went to a few friends' homes. Hmmm...

The kids all looked so cute and grown up. Looks like they have tons of friends! Halloween was different for us, too -- only Hayden was home. The girls were off doing their thang! Boo hoo. Make it stop.

funny all the things they do when they are out on their own... so weird and fun at the same time to watch them grow up. My kids did the same. my boys said that tecnically they did not "trick-or-treat" (we stop at age 12 also), but they went around singing, dancing and preforming as the 3 amigos and people gave them TONS of candy! They ended up with more than everyone.
Funny.

super cute. holidays are weird when everyone grows up and it starts to change. I think halloween was the hardest transition for our family. we knew we were to old to trick or treat but we still wanted candy SO much! haha. it took us a while to realize we could go to parties instead.
